Worlds

Redwood Valley

Hey ya'll!
No, unfortunately this is still not another chapter of Redeeming Love, but I have just been having too much fun doing "extra curricular" sims activities. Like posing and world building!!

And it is a little different to my previous one, though you would notice... I do like my Redwood Dawn trees!!

This world is again created for all you story writers. It is a pioneer village, founded by settlers travelling west in covered wagons (hint hint - good story right there!!) which is simple and rustic. It can be built up or down to your taste with LOADS of room to put lots and build houses, and the decor of the buildings will work for a "back to yesterday" theme. If you wanted :P

The town, as we can see here, is tinsy tiny, protected by the hills surrounding it from too much unwanted attention. It boasts Gerald's pub and hotel, a simply built city hall, a stone church, a boarded schoolhouse, some town houses, the doctor's, the market and the linen store, for the local women to get the supplies they need to provide for their household. The "roads" you see are not actually roads (so as to keep cars from appearing), which means there is no car pool to take you to work. Need to get to town fast? Jump on a horse!

St Matthew's Anglican was built from stone carted in from the near-by hills after the tragic fire of the original log-board structure. Although the preacher is often travelling by other smaller settlements to marry the young and bury the old, many a sim still gather on a Sunday to worship and pray.

Gerald's Pub is small and unassuming, but come Saturday night, the pioneers can tear that place down with their rabble. Too drunk to get home? No worries, the bed upstairs will host you for the night while you sleep it off, and ready to get back to the work the next day ;)

Rosie's School House is where the children will learn their letters and numbers, before they come home to help with the chores. All rabbit holes in this town are hidden to keep to the theme, but the children should be able to enter the "school" hiding under the ground.

General town life is simple and rustic, like the houses which your sims can live in if they choose. Simply and old-style furnished, I would recommend filling them with any custom content you might have to keep better with the theme of the village. I believe I kept all of my CC out when I was building to save potential issues, but there are so many cool things you can get to match the theme better.

Gray's Linen store is one of my favourite parts of the town. Officially a "salon", your sims can get all the sewing supplies they need to "clothe" themselves and their families :)

The highlight of the town's architecture is this stone mansion-style governor's house. Have a fettish for snooty sims? Then snoot all you like in this place - fill it with servants and run the ramshackle town from the comfort of your villa. Have fun with this one - if it seems a little out of place to you then just demolish it, but otherwise enjoy.

Dont want to live in the town? No worries! The world currently has two big empty lots (one fitted out for a legacy) to start a farm, or move into this established apple orchard farm house. Complete with a barn and stables for your horses, run your family and make your living off the land in this beautiful lot.

And that's basically it! Open space and air, dust and hard work to be done. I hope you all enjoy this one and let your creative juices flow freely - really, go nuts! It's just a starter ;)

Or, to download the world along with the Create-a-World files, click HERE. I've included this for you simmers who might want to change things, build further, add whatever you feel is missing and so on.

For the world only, just throw it straight in your downloads folder and install from the launcher. For the world and CAW file, unzip it with whatever program you have. The .sims3pack file can go straight in your downloads folder, and the .world and .settings files can go in your UserToolData / Worlds folder ready to be loaded up in Create-A-World.

Redwood Valley was made with all of the expansion packs and all of the stuff packs, bar Sweet Treats, to date. As mentioned above, it should be CC-free.

Enjoy! xx

Redwood Hills

This Sims 3 world is a creation of mine for all of the players who have wished for a world something akin to a Sims 2 University.

Nestled amongst steep Redwood-covered mountains, this world will give the allusion of a seamless university/boarding school/college (with a hint of a performing arts influence), open to your imagination and with a dorm house ready to be played as a different sort of "apartment".

It has been made with the expansions:
World Adventures + Ambitions + Late Night + Generations + Pets + Showtime

and with the stuff packs:
High End Lot + Fast Lane + Outdoor Living + Town Life + Master Suite

I have tried to keep it CC-free, however I recommend the following School Set by Severinka from The Sims Resource (a free download) to complete your "school" experience. The classrooms were designed with this CC set in my game (although all objects were deleted before upload).

This world has been made to be used in conjunction with your imagination, and sim-savvy skills. To get into the dormitory, freerealestate will be useful. Once in you can use one of the decorated rooms or decorate your own. The classroom buildings are all empty shells open to your imagination, and in B-Block you will find a empty room ready to be filled however you want. Take the right screenshots, use young adults, maybe throw in pose player, and you can have an awesome story in the making. It is up to you what you do with it!

To install, I recommend saving the world file into your downloads folder and installing it from the launcher. There should (hopefully) be no issue.

If you have any questions, comments, requests, issues with the download or install, please let me know :)

Enjoy!

  1. Lovely! I love Redwood Valley, i used for my Wild Horse Challenge and it works perfectly with no roads and just a small village to help to get food or things like that. Love it!
